Bangs ISD

Bangs ISD offers a top-notch education for any student who enrolls in Bangs ISD. J.B. Stephens Elementary is ranked as a Recognized campus. Bangs ISD offers a strong academic program for all grades, including foreign languages, Gifted and Talented Programs, Title I, Special Education and college classes through a partnership with several local colleges and trade schools.

Academic Achievement

The district’s TAKS scores ranked above the state, group and Region 15 averages. Bangs ISD also had passing rates of 94% in reading, 82% in math, 94% in writing, 83% in science and 92% in social studies.

Athletic Facilities

For the sports enthusiast, Bangs ISD is classified as a 2-A district, offering cross country, volleyball, football, basketball, track & field, power lifting, baseball, softball, tennis and golf. Many of the Bangs teams have advanced in the playoffs in their sport, with the football team being back-to-back state finalists in the 2002-2003 seasons

Bangs ISD promotes some of the finest facilities for students in central Texas with a 20,000-square foot indoor practice facility for athletics, a show barn for the FFA and 4H stock shows, tennis courts, two baseball fields, rodeo arena, four gymnasiums, with the newest 900-seat gym being constructed in 2000.

School Budget & Local Taxes

The district follows a fiscally conservative budget and tax rate, with a tax rate of $1 -2274 and a district assessed value of $220,474,261. Bangs ISD runs a 93-95% tax collection rate with a 2008-2009 budget of $9.7 million.

Early ISD

Early Independent School District has a strong academic program and prides itself in the first-rate quality of its schools. The district is a vital part of a dynamic, fast-growing community. Parental support, dedicated staff members and top-quality instruction contribute to an excellent learning environment in the schools. Early ISD encompasses 80 square miles and is in the center of Brown County. The property tax rate is approximately $1.39 per $100.

Student / Teacher Ratio

The student/teacher ratio is approximately 22 to 1 in grades Pre-K through 5, with a comparable ratio in grades 6 through 12.

Academic Achievement

Early ISD prides itself in maintaining an excellent educational learning environment. Campuses and the district have received Exemplary and Recognized ratings from the Texas Education Agency since 1996.

Athletic Program

Early High School is one of the larger schools in Class AA. Longhorn athletes display great enthusiasm and demonstrate a strong work ethic in their quest for athletic excellence. A state-of-the-art fitness facility was constructed in 2000 to help prepare our students for success in both boys’ and girls’ athletics. The athletic program offers football, cross-country, basketball, track, tennis, power lifting, golf, softball and baseball.
